Marble is a natural product and as such can be affected by sunlight, humidity and other environmental conditions. It is however easy to care for marble and keep it looking splendid.
All marbles can be treated with a wax varnish. This protects the surface and makes it resistant to grease, wine, coffee etc. The marble simply needs to be wiped with a damp cloth to remove surface dirt. The marble should not be exposed to solvents, thinners, acids or aerosols sprays etc. as this will remove its protective varnish. As marble is a natural stone, it is vulnerable to knocks and scratches to its varnished surface and its edges. Care should be taken to avoid such knocks.
