The first time we saw a full-on ‘living wall’ of greenery, we weren’t sure how to feel about it. But we’ve noticed since that there are plenty of different approaches to this idea; it doesn’t have to be the heavy plant and shrubbery-based design we first came across. To demonstrate this range of ideas, here are a few ideas taken from Pinterest that we’re really enjoying.
The Potted Plant Approach
The gold wire hanging frames make a fantastic floating design when lined up like this. We love how the little bit of green interacts with the terracotta pots and metallic structure.

Unconventional
For something unexpected, leaves and sprigs of different plants hung on clothes pegs definitely fit the bill. The only downside is that the leaves would have to be regularly refreshed, as they have no immediate access to water.

Leaf Love
A heavier layout, this leaf-layered wall plays with a multitude of shades, shapes and plants to create a fully formed design of interest and depth.

Caged Creations
A minimal approach, the use of hanging cages for neat potted plants is effective, with minimal fuss.

Shelve It
Layered shelves full of delicate hanging plants and flowers create a soft, waterfall-like creation in this corner.

A Pop of Colour
Intersecting a green wall with points of colour really enhances the pretty factor. Shy away from flowers, as their longevity isn’t as strong as the surrounding foliage. Instead, opt for red, yellow and purple leaves.
