How to Perfectly Fold a Fitted Sheet Every Time

Folding a fitted sheet can be a bit of a frustrating task at times but this fantastic folding technique from domestic goddess Martha Stewart is guaranteed to save you time and effort and minimise the amount of space fitted sheets take up in your hot press.

1. Hold the two adjacent corners of one of the shorter edges and place one hand inside each corner.

2. Fold the corner in your right hand over your left hand, reach down and pick up the corner hanging in front and fold it over the two corners in your left hand (the corner that’s showing should be inside out).

3. Pick up the last corner and fold it over the others so it envelops the other three corners.

4. Lay the sheet on a flat surface before straightening it into the shape shown below.

5. Fold the edges to hide the elastic and fold the sheet into a rectangle.

6. Continue to fold until the rectangle is the size you desire.

Martha was also kind enough to upload a video of her master technique, ensuring that even domestic dunces can learn how to perfectly fold a fitted sheet every time!
