Top Tips for Cleaning Vinyl Floors

Vinyl floors are relatively easy-to-clean compared to carpets and hardwood floors, but there are a few important points you should keep in mind to ensure your floor looks its best for longer.

The most important thing to remember is to clean up spills as soon as they occur using tap water.

As with hardwood floors and carpet, you should aim to clean vinyl floors once a week, vacuuming first to remove dirt, dust and pet hair and following up with a wet mop and cleaning solution such as a water and apple cider vinegar mix.

Try using a water and baking soda mix for tougher stains like wine, and surgical spirits for ink or paint.

Scuffs can be removed through use of WD-40 and a towel, but don’t forget to use your vinegar water mix afterwards to clean off the WD-40.

You can add some shine to your vinyl floor by putting a few drops of baby oil into your vinegar water mix.
