7 TV Sets We’d Happily Live In

Fictional homes make for fantastic inspiration when it comes to interiors, considering they are dressed to perfection and often built around a theme or to match a specific character’s taste and personality. Over the years there have been many on-screen spaces we have lusted after, drooling over the aparent perfection of some and craving the messy/cosy details of others. Though there are too many to really choose from, we have rounded up seven of our favourites.

American Horror Story: Coven

Miss Robichaux’s Academy

This New Orleans mansion is an array of cream and white tones from top to bottom, outside and in, and we love it. The exquisite moulding on the ceilings and window frames, the chandeliers, the intricately tiled bathrooms and dominating foyer in particular. Stunning.

Favourite detail: It has to be the fireplace in the bathroom. The sheer lavishness of having an open fire while bathing is an irresistible thought.

Sherlock (BBC)

221B Baker Street

Despite the knife embedded in the mantelpiece and the questionable items to be found in the fridge, Sherlock and John’s flat is cosy goals,  nailing a messy, old-school London aesthetic.

Favourite detail: Can we pick Mrs Hudson? No? Right, well then it has to be the wallpaper/spray-painted smiley/skull painting combo (bottom; right) on the wall by the door. It makes for one serious statement and has become rather iconic.

Frasier

Frasier, Niles & Roz’s Apartments

Frasier Crane’s own apartment was a picture of 90’s Seattle opulence, but don’t forget Niles’ and Roz’s homes. The set design was gorgeous across the board – and yes, we even love Marty’s chair!

Favourite detail:  The grand piano, of course.

Once Upon A Time

The Mayor’s Office/Regina’s Vault Room

Naturally an Evil Queen/small town mayor would demand decadence across her work space and personal rooms. But even taking that into account, this level of gorgeousness and attention to detail is phenomenal.

Favourite detail: The imposing Doric columns which flank her office (bottom; left).

Friends

Monica’s Apartment

What can we say, it’s a classic. We’re sure that particular shade of purple found its way into many a home back in the day.

Favourite detail: The open shelving in the kitchen. Bonus points for the turquoise colouring!

Will & Grace

The Apartment

Remember that episode where Will and Grace consider moving to a new place? Why on earth would anyone want to leave this apartment? And considering it’s based in NYC, this level of space is something else.

Favourite detail: The tan leather armchair. Timeless.

The Addams Family (1964)

The Addams Family Mansion

Not to everyone’s taste surely, but we love the decor of the Adams Family mansion. And yes, we would live here – even just to get a good look at all of the intricate interior features you’re bound to miss on the small screen.

Favourite detail: Although there are many details to choose from, we love the drapery closing off the entry ways into the main foyer.

P.S. If you haven’t seen it, be sure to check out the set pictured in colour. Can you believe that many of the furnishings were pink?
