Get Your Garden Summer Ready

A warm and dry Irish summer is a glorious thing and usually means that many of us spend much more time outdoors than we would normally. Before the summer season gets well and truly underway, it’s time to ensure your garden is prepped to perfection and to make sure this is possible we’ve enlisted some advice from an expert.

Jim Eustace, of Jim Eustace Landscaping has over 15 years of experience providing landscaping services to areas such as Newbridge, Naas, Celbridge, Clane, and Leixlip. The company specialises in domestic landscaping, providing its clients with a professional, friendly service that produces consistent, stellar results.

We sat down with Jim recently and asked for his top 5 tips to get our gardens summer-ready.

1) Preparing and feeding your soil is incredibly important, and ensures high-quality planting. The best way to do this is by adding nutrient-rich organic matter such as mulch, compost or aged manure.
2) We’re big fans of the “right place, right plant,” concept. Each plant has an ideal set of conditions it likes to grow in, and respecting this is key.
3) Planning is vital. Make sure you’re planning for the year ahead and considering structure, trees, hedging, and succession planting.
4) Consider the wildlife around you, we’re lucky to be able to share our gardens with a whole host of wonderful creatures, so ensure that you keep them in mind while you make your plans for your space,
5) Most importantly, have fun!

Let’s take a closer look at some of the gorgeous gardens Jim Eustace Landscaping has put together:
