Monday Mood Board: New Year Yellow

‘Gen Z’ yellow was all the rage last year, pouring into fashion and interiors alike. But yellow seems to have powered through into 2019, and remains a strong contender in the interior design palette, using bright and deeper tones to add colour and unexpected elements to a multitude of spaces. We even covered yellow last year in this blog, but it has resurfaced with a major comeback for the new year, meriting a revisit. With this in mind, we have pulled some inspiration from Pinterest, showcasing how useful yellow tones can be in different rooms around the house.

Kitchen

Whether the tone is more muted or a full-on burst of citrus, the yellow seating in both spaces below adds a freshness and colour punch.

Bedroom

Gold-based yellow works beautifully in the bedroom, as demonstrated by the images below. The soft fabric in such a rich tone, coupled with the neutral background really makes a statement without appearing fussy or stiff. These golden hues are also great for introducing this colour into the home if you’re a sceptic when it comes to bright, sunshine-powered tones.

Living Room

Whether it’s a simple cushion or a sofa, the yellow really pays off in these living rooms, lifting the mood and enhancing the contemporary feel in a light and playful manner.
