A new year (and a new decade) are now well and truly underway as the last of us head back to work this morning. In the spirit of new beginnings, the American colour giant Pantone has announced their colour of the year and it’s the calming, soothing shade they’ve dubbed ‘Classic Blue,’
“When we look at the world around us, we know that we’re living with a lot of unrest, where some days we don’t feel quite as secure. Blue, from an emotional, psychological standpoint, has always represented a certain amount of calm and dependability. It’s a colour that you can rely on.” explains Leatrice Eiseman the executive director of the company’s Color Institute.
Whether you opt for a wash of soothing blue or pops of colour entwined with more basic, anchored tones, Classic Blue is a striking addition to any home.
“Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking; challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication,” continues Eiseman.
