A console table is a great way to add some personality to your home decor. This piece of furniture is perfect for displaying decorative items such as vases, figurines, candles, and other accessories. The design of a console table can also reflect your lifestyle and personal taste. A console table placed in your hallway can be considered a first impression, it is the first thing you see once you enter a home. This is why it is super important to have a well planned console table that will bring your home to life.
Below are some of our tips to help you along with your styling:
Add height
A brilliant way to add more dimension to your space is to add vertically large accessories, these can include lamps, stacked books or a large vase with a dried flower bouquet. Depending on the size of your console table and space, you could also add sculptures and extravagant candle stick holders for a more dramatic, elegant effect.
A mirror is a non-negotiable
A mirror is a strategic piece to place above your console table on your wall. It will completely open up and brighten your home. Your mirror should be proportioned well with your console table, not too small or large.
Avoid using your console table as a drop-zone
It is so easy to come home from work and drop your keys, phone, wallets and other belongings on your console table. If you plan on using your console table for these personal items, it is a good idea to have a small basket or install hooks to store these without making your console table look messy. Add storage where necessary.
Not everything has to be symmetrical
While a mirror and accessories are very important, it is not a requirement to have everything centred. Have fun with the placement of your items and include a mix of both small and large homewares.
