Inspired by interiors of the past, the opulent interior design style encompasses touches of art deco elegance, married with the luxury of the gilded age finishes. The focus in the opulent interior design style is on a tactile experience, so you may note that velvets and other sumptuous materials play a key part in pulling this look together.
“Key materials in an opulent design palette are velvet, gold, and lots of print, often combined together to create a unique look,” says John Carroll, studio manager and member of our merchandising team.
The opulent interior design style can seem like a difficult one to pull off without going ott, so we suggest starting with a colour palette of pale pink, and teal. forest green and gold, the key colourways of the trend, and building your look from there.
