Fancy giving your home a facelift this year? We know we’ve spent so long looking at our own four walls this year that we’re dying to give them a fresh lick of paint. But what colour do you choose? We’ve put together our top five favorite shades that are sure to be bang on trend for 2022.

1) Playdough Pastels.
2022 is fast becoming the year of the pastels as we seek to brighten up our interiors with enduring positivity and optimism. We love a grown-up take on the trend, like teaming lilac with golden finishes, velvet textures, and abstract artwork. These playful shades are a fantastic way to modernise your interior decor, adding colour to a space without overwhelming it. Our advice is to pair your pastels with clean lines and minimalist materials.

2) Tranquil Pales
Our desire to create a peaceful, serene home environment has made way for the return of these subtle shades. Transform your home interior with soft and welcoming colours that inspire a sense of mindfulness and wellbeing. Cool greens, blues and barely there shades of pink and yellow will earn a serious nod of approval this year. We’d explore introducing these muted colours at home by incorperating them into cushions, rugs and throws, as well as pairing them with more grounded shades like taupes and greige.

3) Vivid Teal
This popular shade has been gaining steady ground over the last few years and shows no sign of going anywhere soon. We love the way a sharp teal hue can embolden a living space, but in a livable way. This eye-catching shade has the ability to add depth to everyday pieces and looks best in the form of plush upholstery, painted wood and polished metallics.

4) Rich Earthy Brown
Warm neutral shades such as taupe, greige, terracotta and umber are back with a bang this year. For a cool, Scandi vibe we’d team these colours with mixed metals, lots of texture and smooth, clean lines in your furniture choices.

5) Black Dimension
Black is back in 2022 and will a key player in ensuring your home feels luxurious, with an air of mystery. This alluring shade adds prominence to walls, floors, tableware, and decor. Our top tip would be to create complexity and experiment with textures such as matte and polished finishes.
