That’s why we’re incredibly proud to announce the launch of our very own furniture and home care products that not only give you peace of mind but work a treat too.

LEATHER
Famously, leather improves with age. It softens and takes on its own characteristics – this is an inevitable feature of using real leather. But leather must be properly maintained if it is to age in an aesthetically pleasing way, avoiding cracking and other unwanted marks. It’s also worth remembering that leather hides are all individual and vary in colour and texture, so there might be a slight variation from one to the other, even if two items are ordered in the same shade. This is a natural quality of the material.
- Keep the leather away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid placing the leather near direct heat or air conditioning, as this will dry it out and result in cracks.
- Natural oils produced by the body can affect leather, so regular cleaning with a leather-specific product is essential.
- Dust and dirt can be absorbed by the exterior and disturb the surface if not regularly cleaned.
FABRIC
Fabric care is specific to the fabric in question and may require a tailored product or treatment to get the best out of your it, in terms of longevity and look. Always refer back to the fabric type, but there are general rules when it comes to soft furnishings.
- Regular hoovering is important for removing dust – a soft-brush attachment is the best option.
- Upholstery shampoo (when suitable) is great for refreshing the appearance and scent. Make sure to allow the fabric to dry thoroughly before use.
- Clean up spills quickly – don’t allow moisture to soak in.
- Rotate cushions regularly to maintain the shape and avoid wear on one side.
- Avoid wetting the fillings, stick to the exterior.
- Don’t clean using a harsh brush or cloth, as this may mark the fabric.
- If concerned about spills, consider opting for an Aquaclean fabric.
WOOD
When it comes to wood, it’s important to keep in mind that it’s an organic material and therefore furniture crafted from it will have its own individual look and life. From the unique knots and texture directions to the colour and volume, these elements will affect the appearance and how it changes over time. However, these natural adjustments don’t mean that it should be left to sit without proper care, as maintenance will aid in its longevity and condition.
- Wood needs to breathe, so don’t cover it with plastic or oilcloth for long periods – or any airtight material.
- Painted surfaces will crack at the joints if the humidity fluctuates too frequently.
- Wood will change colour over time with light and humidity. That is a natural part of its lifespan. However, the colour change will accelerate if the furniture sits in direct light for long periods. It’s also wise to keep in mind that items sitting on wooden surfaces at length might lead to colour differences in the overall process.
- Avoid placing cups and hot items on top of the furniture, as these are likely to leave marks.
