Take the Tour – Inside Author Jane Austens Home

Did you know that the home of the late, great author Jane Austen is up for rent as a holiday rental on Air BnB? It’s thought that Austen wrote her lost novel, The Watsons at the property while she lived there, between 1801-1805.

The property itself, located in Bath, two spacious bedrooms, a dining area, one bathroom and a study. Each room is decorated in a cosy, bohemian aesthetic, while the walls of are filled to the brim with prints and paintings.

Having been refurbished in the last number of years, the home features all of the modern comforts one could want while on holiday, including WiFi, a coffee machine, hairdryer, an iron, travel cot and toiletries.

The historical authenticity of the space hasn’t been lost due to recent improvements, however, with lots of the furniture decorating the rooms dating back to the early 19th century, around the time Austen would have lived in the property. The town of Bath itself is also the location for two of Austen’s most popular novels, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion.
