For people living in a rented property, it can be difficult to make your house or apartment feel like home. Artwork has always played a major role in our lives. Whether it’s a painting, sculpture or photo, it’s something we cherish. But sometimes, we simply cannot hang artwork on a nail in the wall due to tenancy agreements.
Hanging artwork in a rental property can be tricky. If you don’t want to damage the walls or furniture, then you’ll need to hang your art using some other method. The good news is that there are alternative options to display your favourite pieces of art.
Display your artwork on a sideboard
Using a sideboard, console table or mantle are some great options to display your artwork. For smaller frames, these can be propped up against homewares already displayed. Larger pieces of art can be leaned against the wall for support. This requires no damage to your wall and leaves your artwork easily moved
Command hooks
Command hooks are very similar to command strips, however, the main difference is that command hooks are used for bigger pieces of art that weigh more. These are a safer option than using command strips for bigger pieces, offering more resilience.
Use a hardwall takker
A hardwall takker can be used effectively on a solid wall. This is great for rental properties. While this does leave a mark, it is extremely minimal and unnoticeable, leaving just a tiny tac mark.
Command strips
A fantastic option for hanging smaller frames and artwork on your wall is by using command strips. These are super easy to use adhesive strips that can be applied and removed quickly from your wall. These strips come in different sizes to accommodate different weight and sized art pieces.
Lean artwork against a wall
This is a great idea for a more “studio” look. This works especially well for large scale pieces of art. In some cases, this can be the most effective way to display artwork
