Brighten Up Your Kitchen

The kitchen is one of the rooms of the house that can never have too much light, and regardless of your kitchen’s size you should always try to illuminate it as brightly as possible.

While this may not always seem like a feasible thing to achieve, there are plenty of methods for maximising light in your kitchen.

For instance, you should always try to keep all corners well lit as this will ensure you have enough light to prepare, cook and store food, so introduce lamps into areas that don’t receive as much light as the rest of the room.

Another smart way to improve lighting in the kitchen is by installing under-cabinet lighting fixtures with at least one light bulb per square metre.

Similarly, you can install lighting fixtures inside cabinets, cupboards and even drawers, ensuring you always have enough room to see what you’re doing.

Combing different types of light .e.g task, ambient and accent lighting, greatly improves a kitchen’s capacity for light so try to introduce as many different types as possible.
